Searching for WPP Opportunities
You can search the FÁS job bank for all WPP placements on offer. You can also refine your search by placement type, Graduate placements are labeled WPP1 for your convenience and non graduate placements are labeled WPP2.
If your search returns more that 200 Placements you need to refine it further to view them. You can refine by when they were advertised by selecting ‘Todays/Earlier Jobs’ or by ‘Occupation’ or by where the placement is located by selecting ‘Location ‘.
To view the WPP opportunities click ‘Show Vacancies’ and a list of what you have selected will appear.

Reviewing WPP Opportunities
The details of placements are provided in a standard template form. Each placement has the following information:
Title: e.g. HR/Training Assistant - WPP1
Job Reference: a unique number to identify this placement e.g. JB531319
Description: a description of the placement which includes the
Area of activity: the department or sector of the placement
Elements of experience offered: what work experience they are offering you while on the placement NOT the experience they expect you to have already
Person specification: some description of the type of person that would suit the role, with details of any specific qualifications required etc.
Location: where the position is located in the country
Other Information: how to apply to the Provider for the placement.
Applying for a Placement
Before you apply for a placement you should first register with FÁS and check if you are eligible to retain you social welfare payment. Then you should follow the instructions given by the Provider and apply by e-mail or phone as requested. If a CV is required, check out the tips on how to prepare your CV.
Going for Interview
You may be interviewed for the placement. Although this is not a job interview, the Provider may still wish to meet you before they offer you a nine month placement. If you have not been to an interview before or it has been a while since your last one then read some tips on how to prepare for an interview.
Starting a Placement
On your first day of the placement you will be met by a nominated person, it may be the person that applied for the placement, perhaps someone from Human Resources (HR) or another nominated person. They are there to greet you and show you where you will be based and to introduce you to your colleagues. They should also provide you with a copy of the WPP application that they completed when applying for the placement, which describes in detail what you will be doing while on the placement.
