The FÁS Library and Information Service is the prime resource in Ireland for information in the field of human resources development. While the Library and Information Service exists primarily to cater to the information needs of FÁS staff, the resource is also used extensively for reference purposes by external users such as researchers, students, trainers and consultants. Members of the public may gain access to the Library and Information Service by contacting a member of staff and making an appointment.
The Library holds a comprehensive collection of resources in the following areas:
- Training and education
- Labour market
- Employment and unemployment
- Career guidance and counselling
- Economics
- Management.
FÁS/Cedefop Network
Cedefop is the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training. The Library and Information Service is the Irish co-ordinator for the Cedefop European Network of Reference & Expertise (ReferNet) whose aim is to gather and disseminate information on vocational education and training in the Member States of the European Union. See the Irish ReferNet website for a full description of activities and functions of the network. Links to European Refer networks and news of latest developments and publications are also provided on the website.
